Common Questions
These questions and answers will help explain who we are and what we do. You can also look at the About Us Link at the top of the page

If you have any suggestions for information that could be added here, we would like to hear from you
Can you help me find childcare/childminders?
The Owlet Children has a close working relationship with The Children's Information Link. They are based in Bradford town centre and are able to provide details of childminders living in your area, as well as pre-school groups, day nurseries, holiday activities, nursery education, parent and toddler groups, out of school activities and family support.

They can be contacted on 01274 436600

How are we different?
Because we want parents and local communities to get directly involved in running their local centres. It’s your chance to tell the government what you need to make life better for you and your children

Is it just for Lone Parents or people receiving benefits?
No. As long as you live within the Sure Start Shipley Area and have at least one child who is under the age of 5, you can register with our programme and use the services we offer.

You can call in to the office to see if you live in our area Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm.

Is it just for Parents and Carers?
No. Childminders, Playgroups, Resident Associations and others are all welcome to have their say. We want everybody who has an interest in families with young children to become involved

What's in it for me?
  • A chance to meet people and make new friends
