Bradford Domestic Violence Support
There are a number of services in the Bradford District which work with women and children who experience domestic violence.
Some examples of these include:

Shipley NewStart Centre
The centre offers learning opportunities to people living in the Bradford Met area, particularly Shipley. New Start works in partnership with other local organisations including Shipley College, BCB (Bradford Community Broadcasting) CALTEC and Shipley Communities On line to provide a wide range of subjects.
Course subjects can include: Computing (introductory, intermediate, CLAIT, word processing, silver surfing), Art, Languages, Digital Media, Maths, English and Local History.
There is a large woodwork workshop, with a tutor, where learners can complete their own projects/repairs, learn the basics or join 1-morning tasters.
Jobs@ runs an excellent job search service offering help with CVs, application forms and interview techniques. Sue can also help link employers and prospective employees.
The Educational Advice Service for Adults (EASA) also has a member of staffed based at the centre. Advice and guidance on future training and/or careers is available on either a Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon.
In support New Start also has an OFSTED inspected crèche for children up to 5 years. Anyone using any of the facilities at the centre can make use of the crèche.
Shipley Community Radio is based in the centre and broadcasts about local issues on a fortnightly basis. There is training for local people to become involved.
Shipley New Start is at 16, Otley Road, Shipley (near Fox Corner, opposite the Noble Comb pub). The phone number is (01274) 437175. You can use this number to contact any of the services offered at the centre.
